Fraserburgh on Film is a place to collate the films and memories of the people of the North East corner. It has been made possible by the generous help of several individuals who have shared their time and knowledge to bring the project together.
The overall aim is to contribute to the preservation of the rich cultural history of the area by providing a place for people to come together to share, learn and reflect. It is hoped that with contributions from the community that the archive will continue to grow and bring new materials to light.
Fraserburgh on Film was created by Andrew Davidson as a research project conducted as part of an MSc in Information and Library Studies at Robert Gordon University.
“Being born and raised in the Broch I have always had an appreciation for the rich heritage and history of the North East. This is sometimes overlooked and I hope that in making this site I can contribute in some way to helping to preserve and celebrate the social culture unique to the area.
I understand that I have only scratched the surface of the details behind the stories shown here and really would appreciate the help of the community to help build upon the information provided. The idea behind the project was to create a space where the community could be part of the story and any contributions you can make will be most appreciated, so please do get in touch.
I hope you enjoy using the site as much as I have enjoyed creating it and researching these great stories from the Broch.”
